The Addis Credit and Saving Institution (ACSI) loans 1.5 billion Birr during the last nine months of this fiscal year, according to Walta Information Center.

According to Meraf Alemayehu, ACSI Public Relations Head the loan was extended to 28,439 residents of Addis Ababa.

Meraf said the number of beneficiaries and amount of loan extended in the specified period increased by 10% and 40% respectively, in comparison with the same period last year.

Beneficiaries of the loan are people in group and independently who are engaged in trade, manufacturing and construction sectors, she noted.

The institution has collected 909.7 million Birr in saving from clients, exceeding its target of collecting 953 million birr, she added.
