Ethiopian and Japanese Companies to Form Joint Venture

Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced participants to the Ethio- Japan Agro Business Seminar have agreed to form joint venture in the areas of food and agro business.

The seminar was attended by more than 115 Japanese and Ethiopian companies engaged in agro business, flower and sesame production.

Export of Ethiopian agricultural products to the Japanese market have showed progress in the past few years, according to the Ethiopian News Agency.

Commenting on the trade relation of Ethiopia and Japan, Tefera Derebew, Ethipia's Minister of Agriculture, said the trade relation of the two is not as such strong.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Japan, Markos Tekle, appreciated Japan for being a major development partner to Ethiopia.

Commenting on the seminar, the Ambassador said it will enhance the move to strengthen relations of the two countries and companies working on food and agro business.
