Ethiopia's Awash International Bank (AIB) has purchased 100 Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and 400 Point of Sale (POS) terminals, Capital reported.

The Lebanese company, Computer Business Machine (CBM), will supply the ATMs and the POS terminals will be supplied by S2M, a Moroccan company.

 “During the bid process, we involved six companies for the ATM and four companies for the POS machines,” Mechal Bedada, the Bank’s public relations head said.

The delivery of the ATMs and POS is expected in three months’ time.

Awash International Bank recorded an unaudited gross profit of 639 million Ethiopian birr in the 2012/13 fiscal year, exceeding the previous year’s profit by 20.3 percent.
