Ethiopian Roads Authority awarded a 1.2 billion Ethiopian birr road construction project to Chines Company, Sino Hydro Corporation Limited.
The contract for the 90 KM long road upgrade project from Bahir Dar to Zema Wenze was signed on September 9, 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Ziang Taogeng, regional representative of Sino Hydro Corp. and Zaid Wodegebriel General Director of the Ethiopian Road Authority signed the agreement.
Local construction companies Sur Construction and Yencomad and a Trukis Comany has also paricipated in the bid for the road upgrade project fully financed by the Government of Ethiopia.
The project is part of the 262 KM road planned to link Bahir Dar and Dejen, according to Samson Wondimu, communication director with ERA.
The design of the road was done by Ethiopia's Core Consulting PLC and the Supervision of the project will be carried out by Net Consulting Engineers & Architects.
Sino Hydro Corporation Limited has constructed more than 900 KM of road in its 11 year presence in Ethiopia.
