Ethiopia’s Inflation Rate Fell to 7.6 Percent in March

Ethiopia’s inflation rate fell to 7.6 percent in March (Megabit) 2005 E.C., according to the Central Statistics Agency.

Households Survey and Prices Statistics Directorate Director with the Agency, Alemayehu Teferi, said the government has managed to bring price inflation down to single digit as per its plan.

This does not mean, however, that price has dropped; it just means the rate of price rise has dropped, or it rose by only 7.6 percent compared to that of same time last year, Alemayehu said.

It is to be recalled that price inflation stood at 21 percent in September (Meskerem) 2005 E.C.
