Korea Expressway Corporation concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Transport. It was Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Korea, Shiferaw Jarso, that signed the MoU on behalf of the Ethiopian Government on March 30, 2016.
The Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure has unveiled a smart city initiative aimed at transforming 275 towns across Ethiopia into smart cities by 2024/2025. The plan seeks to modernize urban services, improve living standards, and drive the country's urban development forward.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Water and Energy signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ethio Engineering Group and APIMOSO, a Czech Republic-based company. The agreement focuses on the import, assembly, and local manufacturing of water filtration machines.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Water & Energy has ordered additional photovoltaic solar panels for Africa's largest solar power project. The 3,700 solar panels, worth US$1.5 million will be supplied by a Chinese company, Poly Technologies.
The ministry has previously purchased 25,000 solar panels from the same company. The panels are currently being installed across six regional states of Ethiopia. The purchase has been financed by the World Bank.The project is funded by the US$130 million loan the International Development Association provided to Ethiopia's energy sector.A two days awareness creation training has been organized by the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade on World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements, the accession process, and the packages developed on fair trade and completion.
