The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has suspended the implementation of a Ministry of Revenue (MoR) decision that would have required domestic fruit drink manufacturers to pay several years of backdated excise taxes, penalties, and interest.
Ethio telecom signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia with a view to enabling customers of the Ministry pf Foreign Affairs and Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia pay their service fees using Telebirr.
The understanding between the four entities will allow those who visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to settle their service fees for document authentication services easily while the customers of Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia can pay through telebirr for certificate of registration, renewal of registration certificate, and issuance of temporary registration certificate.
The Ministry of Industry of Ethiopia (MoI) had concluded a contract for the consultancy work of the Bole Lemi phase two and phase one industrial parks, which is worth 139 million Birr with DOHWA Engineering Co. Ltd as a lead firm on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
The Ministry of Industry in Ethiopia launched an electronic service which, according to the Ministry, would have a significant contribution in facilitating market linkages and increasing the relationship between the private sector and the community. The Ministry collaborated with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology to develop the e-service.
Melaku Alebel, the Minister of Ministry of Industry, stated that the launch of the e-service was part of his office’s endeavors to implement a modern operating system which would create an efficient and corruption free service.
The Ministry of Industry (MoI) announced that it would enable 179 manufacturing companies that stopped working due to various problems to go back to business in the coming six months. Bank debts, shortage of inputs, and inability to meet tax obligations are some of the problems that drove the companies out of market.
