MIDROC Investment Group has officially inaugurated a new filler production plant in Awash 7 town.

The newly launched Awash Filler Factory is part of MIDROC’s broader expansion strategy and is expected to produce key inputs for various manufacturing sectors. The factory aims to reduce Ethiopia’s dependency on imports, thereby conserving foreign currency and enhancing industrial self-reliance.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Afar State Chief Administrator Awol Arba and MIDROC CEO Jemal Ahmed.

The factory is expected to create local job opportunities and support Ethiopia’s economy by substituting imported materials with domestic production. The launch is said to underscore growing investor confidence in Afar as a destination for large-scale manufacturing.
