The Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) is currently reviewing its performance for the first 9 months of the 2022/2023 fiscal year in Jimma City. During the forum the Corporation reported that it generated USD 121.9 million from foreign trade exports in the past 9 months – USD 34 million short of its plan to get USD 156 million in export revenue.
The Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) says it attracted more than USD 377 million in new investment during the first half of Ethiopia’s 2025/26 fiscal year, drawing 64 investors into the special economic zones and industrial parks under its administration.
Industrial Parks Development Corporation revealed that the performance of industrial parks had begun showing improvement after a period of relative stagnation. The CEO of the Corporation, Aklilu Tadesse, said that Ethiopia was able to see improvements because investors were able to access markets other than the United States where the country was a beneficiary of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
The Addis Ababa Industry Development Bureau unveiled it is going to avail 547 hectares of land to investors in GTP II.
The Ethiopian Development Research Institute urged policy makers and practitioners to help infant micro and small manufacturing enterprises gain access to finance, market, and work space. The institute issued a baseline survey report titled “Main Features of Micro and small Manufacturing Enterprises in Ethiopia” which was conducted on manufacturing MSEs operating in 10 large cities. The authors of the report selected 8,174 samples from the total enterprises found in these cities.
