Powered by Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS), Hibir e-commerce will enable businesses in Ethiopia to sell their products and reach new international customers online.Hibret Bank pioneered in launching Hibir e-commerce, a digital payments platform that allows Ethiopian businesses and retailers to accept international card payments for online purchases. Hibir e-commerce is first-of- its kind in the Ethiopian banking industry. This move is expected to help local businesses reach new markets and increase revenue while expanding Ethiopia’s access to the digital economy.

Hibret Bank signed a partnership agreement with Safaricom M-PESA to collaborate on various initiatives that will enhance the provision of digital financial solutions in Ethiopia. As part of an initial step for the agreed upon broad project, Hibret Bank is appointed as a Super-Agent to synergize the Cash-in and Cash-out process of the numerous agents registered under Safaricom M-PESA.

Hibret Bank has reported a pre-tax profit of Birr 749.04 million for the 2024/25 fiscal year, according to disclosures made during its 28th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
