Ethiopia: Federal Government’s Budget Proposed to be 178.6 Billion Birr

The Federal Housing Corporation has signed an agreement with Baumit Group, a leading Austrian construction technology company, to bring advanced 3D construction printing technology to Ethiopia.
The Federal Public Procurement and Property Authority (PPPA) has announced that starting from July 2023, 169 federal institutions will conduct their procurement electronically. The electronic procurement system (EPS) is designed to eliminate corruption and malpractices, and prevent budget embezzlement. It is expected that up to 25% of unnecessary expenses will be avoided after the system starts to be implemented.

The Federal Tax Appeal Commission announced that it had launched an online service system. According to Mulugeta Ayalew, President of the Commission, the system enables any person to lodge an appeal within 10 minutes and facilitates several applications at a time.
Preparation to install the 1st ULH-MHP (Ultra-Low Head Micro Hydroelectric Power Technology) at Fentalle irrigation scheme is completed. It was done by a project that targeted at enhancing local electric power capacity using small hydro power plant.
