Ethio Telecom has announced major achievements in the first half of the 2024/25 fiscal year, including saving Birr 3.5 billion through cost-effective digital services, transferring over one trillion Birr via Tele Birr, and expanding 5G services to 10 cities.
Ethiopia's state-owned Ethio Telecom announced it has obtained 28 million birr revenues in six months, since the Ethiopian fiscal year kicked in on July 8, 2021. The amount shows a 6.7 percent rise compared to last year, and stands at 86.4 percent of the company's target for the period.
Ethio Telecom earned a revenue of Birr 33.8 billion during the first half of the current fiscal year while increasing the number of its subscribers to 70 million. Out of the 70 million subscribers, 67.7 million are users of the Company’s mobile voice service. The number of subscribers for data and internet has reached 31.3 million.
