Ethiopia: ESL Generates Over Birr 13 Billion in Three Months

Ethiopia’s state monopole for shipping, Ethiopian Shipping Lines and Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) made a gross profit of 10 billion Birr during the first 9 months of the current fiscal year. During the period, the state monopoly transported 3.5 million tons of goods via Djibouti and Berbera ports.
Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise (ESLSE), the state monopole, has more than doubled its storage cost for containers at the dry ports. The decision came in the aim of discouraging overstaying containers at Ethiopia’s 7 dry ports.
Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) announced it will expand Modjo Dry Port in the aim of accommodating services tied with export goods. This is in addition to the service the dry port is giving to goods imported to Ethiopia.
