The latest Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) membership auctioned was concluded by Orchid Business Plc’s winning for a price of 1.6 million Birr. The price Orchid offered is 12 fold of the original seat value.
The Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ethiopia Office will hold their fourth High Level Forum of Phase II of the Policy Dialogue on Industrial Development on 30th July 2013, EDRI announced.
According to a statement EDRI sent to Ethiopian News Agency, the forum is the fourth event in the series of Phase II of Policy Dialogue on Industrial Development between Ethiopia and Japan. It said the event will focuses on strategic Foreign Direct Investment promotion and technology transfer.Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) announced that it had established 419 new manufacturing enterprises during the first quarter of the 2022/2023 fiscal year. The institution also implemented initiatives to boost the already existing 1,378 enterprises and targets the establishment of 4062 new enterprises by the end of the fiscal year.
Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has set an ambitious target to generate Birr 30 billion in revenue from electricity exports, domestic energy sales, and related services during the current fiscal year.
Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) concluded a 1.2 billion Birr agreement with Larsen Arsen & Toubro Limited, an Indian company, for capacity improvement and expansion project at power distribution stations. The main aim of the expansion project is avoiding power interruptions.
85 percent of the cost is financed by a loan secured from French Development Agency while the rest 15 percent will be covered by the Ethiopian government.
