Import and export contraband goods with an estimated value of more than Birr 76.3 million were seized between August 12 and 18, 2022. The seized items included clothes, fuels, livestock, electronics, coffee, medicine, vehicles, weapons, khat, cooking oil, drugs, cosmetics, and various currencies.
The seized import contraband goods are estimated to reach Birr 66.1 million while the export contraband goods amount to Birr 10.2 million. Adama, Dire Dawa, and Moyale Customs Offices take the lead in controlling import contraband.
