Central Statistics Agency (CSA) disclosed it is compiling statistical data for Growth and Transformation Plan II (GTP).

According to the Public Relations Head at CSA, Shafi Gemedi, the compilation is being prepared based on Ethiopia’s performance in the past four years of the first GTP period.

He added studies are being carried out in crop development, land utilization, commercial and medium farms, food security, agricultural development and rural socio-economic situation in the agriculture sector.

With regard to the business sector, Shafi commented, statistical data will be collected on manufacturing industries, construction activities, export and transportation.

In addition to this, pilot studies on family consumption, expenditure and social security of households will be done in order to assess poverty.
