Awash Insurance Company (AIC) disclosed it has made a net profit of 91 million Birr during 2015/2016 fiscal year. The profit made by AIC, which is among the biggest insurers in Ethiopia, shows a 41 percent increase in net profits when compared to the 2014/2015 fiscal year.
Awash Insurance has signed an agreement with Ethiopian Airlines to provide travel health insurance coverage for the airline’s passengers, expanding access to insurance services through digital channels.
Ethiopia's Awash International Bank (AIB) has purchased 100 Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and 400 Point of Sale (POS) terminals, Capital reported.

Awash Winery aims to infiltrate the international market as the company is speeding up its expansion project to improve its capacity. The expansion work was begun in late 2014 and it now has reached one third completion. Upon conclusion of the expansion work, Awash will have a production capacity of 7 to 10 million liters a year.
