Ethiopia: Amhara State Licensed 1,193 Projects

Amhara Regional State Rural Road Construction Agency disclosed it plans to construct 318 kilometers rural roads.
Amhara State of Ethiopia targets to harvest more than 2 million quintals of crop during the belg season. The announcement was made by the State’s Agriculture Bureau.
Commenting on the issue, Solomon Kumlachew, crop production expert at the Bureau, said around 253 thousand square meters of land is expected to be cultivated during the season. Thus far half of this land is covered with crop, he added.
A new edible oil factory was launched by Unison Corporate in Bahir Dar yesterday. The plant which uses soybeans, wool, sesame, nuggets, nuts and other oilseeds to produce 30,000 liters of oil per day cost Birr 1.5 billion to be completed. It is hoped that the factory will play its part in reducing the edible oil supply shortage.
The factory’s construction and machinery installation were done by Ethiopians. It has now created job opportunities for 100 permanent and 80 temporary employees.

A company that assembles electric cars will begin operation in Debre Birhan after three months. The car assembly company, which is owned by Belayneh Kinde, will assemble one thousand cars annually once it becomes fully operational. It is also expected to create employment opportunities for 500 individuals.
