Twenty six African leaders signed a Tripartite Free Trade Agreement to create a common market in half of the continent on June 10, 2015, according to Ethiopian News Agency.
The first waste-to-energy power plant in Africa was inaugurated in Addis Ababa on Sunday, August 19. The President of Ethiopia, Dr. Mulatu Teshome, inaugurated the Reppie waste-to-energy project which will generate 185 Giga watts Hour (GWH) annually using Addis Ababa’s dry waste. The plant is located southwest of Addis Ababa, commonly known as Koshe area.
AG Consult Water Technology Training Center, Ethiopia’s only privately-owned water technology training center inaugurated training facilities. The company announced the launching of its full-scale training facilities at an even held in Hilton Hotel, Addis Ababa in the presence of government officials and experts in the sector.
Kebede Gerba, State Minster of Water and Energy, who attended the event, told Capital that the training centre has a role to feed trained experts to the sector, in parallel with the government scheme.Ethiopia's Agriculture, Investment and Land Administration Agency availed 3.6 million hectares arable land to investors in the agriculture sector, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
