Ethiopia to Join International Renewable Energy Agency
A Bill to ratify the establishment of the International Renewable Energy Agency was tabled before the Ethiopian House of People’s Representatives.
The bill has been sent to the Natural Resource and Environmental Protection Affairs Standing Committee for further review.
Ethiopia will benefit from becoming a member of IRENA said Wendimu Gezahegn, deputy government whip. Advantages of membership include technology transfer and capacity building according to Wendimu.
The process took over a year and 6.9 million dollars which has not been paid in full yet.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration said fuel retail prices will remain unchanged until May 8, 2022. However, light and hard black diesel, and airplane fuel prices are subject to revision as per the global rate, it has been learned.
