A 150% tax will be imposed on the export of semi-finished leather from Ethiopia as of this month according to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. The move is expected to encourage the export of finished leather and leather products.
The new tax was announced by a joint statement of the MoFED and the Leather Industry Development Institute.
The Ethiopian government announced plans to improve access and quality of Information and Communication Technology in the country.

Ethiopia’s Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) disclosed it is set to inaugurate 2 new industrial parks. The industrial parks are built by Chinese companies. The industrial parks are Mekelle Industrial Park and Kombolcha Industrial Park that are being built by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) respectively.
