Ethiopia to Export Potash in 4 Years

Ethiopia is to begin exporting renewable energy to neighboring countries by 2018 as part of a cross border endeavor to meet regional energy demand and limit increases in climate-changing emissions, Reuters reported.
Ethiopia is seeking the capacity to export technology by the year 2025 according to the Ministry of Science and Technology. The ministry made the announcement at the event marking the 2011 World Science Day.
The country is committed to encourage the application of science and technology as a means to assure equality among all sections of society to enhance sustainable public participation said a representative of Dassie Dalkie Minister of Science and Technology.
Ethiopian Power Engineering Industry (EPEI) that operates under Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC) unveiled its plan on Sunday, May 17, 2015 to export Ethiopian made transformers to neighboring countries within short period of time, Ethiopian Herald reported.
Ethiopia is to launch a new project in Adi Gala, which will enable it to export potable water to Djibouti. An agreement was signed to facilitate the export between Sufian Ahmed, Ethiopian Minister of Finance and Economic Development and Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, Minister of Finance of Djibouti.
The project will be fully financed by the government of Djibouti according to the agreement signed between the two countries.
The deal outlines the implementation of the project according to which the construction of a pipeline to carry the water will be handled by Djibouti. It is expected that the construction of the project which will supply 100 thousand meter cubes of water every day will take a year and a half to complete.
