Since agreements have been signed between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia regarding Ethiopian domestic workers in the latter a few months back, Ethiopia has begun sending trained domestic workers abroad.
Ethiopia revealed plans to develop 46 additional projects in the textile industry by 2015 to increase the revenue from the sector to 2.5 billion US dollars at the end of the time.
It is expected that six of the projects will become operational during the next financial year with a further 18 being launched in the year after; the remaining 22 will be operational in the years up to the end of the 5 years GTP period, 2015.
Two of the anticipated projects are expected to be cotton ginning industries; four are spinning industries, a knitting industry, seven weaving and one finished woven textile industry.

The Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration announced revised retail prices for fuel, effective from tomorrow December 10, 2021. The Ministry cited depletion of the fuel price stabilization fund, mentioning the fund kept fuel prices stable despite continuous global price rise of fuel, as one of the reasons for the price increment.
Ethiopia's population has reached an estimated 135.3 million, according to the 2025 World Population Report released by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The milestone comes as the country embarks on revising its National Population Policy, originally adopted in 1985.
