Ethiopia established WTO-TBT National Enquiry Point

A centre of excellence for freight logistics, Ethiolog, was established yesterday at the Addis Ababa University.
The centre will make the freight transport and logistics efficient and cost effective, Getachew Mengiste, Minister of State for Transport, said.
Ethiolog is expected to create a joint forum for higher learning institutions, government offices and the private sector to work together. And it will be entrusted with conducting research to address problems in the transport sector.
Ethiopian Women Fish Processors and Traders Network has been established in Addis Ababa as a chapter of the African Women Fish Processors and Traders Network (AWFishNET). The association is expected to be instrumental in facilitating trade links at both national and regional levels.

Ethiopia generated USD 521.98 million from the export of 115,851.77 tons of coffee, tea, and spices in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This achievement exceeded Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority's initial target of USD 427.10 million from 83,294.25 tons.

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that Ethiopia produced 215,000 tons of honey in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, surpassing its initial target of 210,000 tons.
