The horticulture sector of Ethiopia generated more than 185 million USD in the first 8 months of the current fiscal year. This is 17 percent higher when compared to the same period from the previous year’s performance.
The biggest share of the money earned goes to cut flower export to Europe. It generated over 150 million USD in the 8 months.
Ministry of Trade disclosed Ethiopia generated 2.86 billion USD from the export sector in the just concluded fiscal year.
Ethiopia earned 231 million USD from the export of crystal minerals during the just ended fiscal year. This was disclosed by Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas. Out of the entire earnings, 90 percent was from the export of gold.
Horticulture Development Agency disclosed Ethiopia secured over 230 million USD from horticulture export during the first 10 months of current fiscal year.
Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas disclosed Ethiopia made 309 million USD from the sales of different minerals in the international market.
