Addis Ababa Transport Bureau (AATB) is to purchase vehicles, radars, cameras, alcohol testers, speed controllers and loud speakers worth Birr ten million for mobile monitoring of the city’s traffic flow, according to Addis Fortune.
Highway that will stretch from Ethiopia to Sudan is going to be built in the aim of benefiting the people dwelling in the two countries using transportation.
Alliance Transport Service S.C, Ethiopia signed an agreement for the import of 50 buses with Chinese manufacturer Xiamen King Long Automotive Industry. The deal was agreed for 72 million birr.
The agreement stipulated that parts of the pass including the engine will come from British company Kemens Engine with Xiamen handling the bodywork and assembly of the buses.
The buses, expected to arrive in three months, will have the capacity to seat up to 100 people offering modern conveniences and comfort to travelers according to officials from Alliance.
Tratos Cavi secured the contract to supply high and low voltage cable for Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam. The cable manufacturer secured the contract estimated to be in the multi millions from contractor Salini.
The dam being constructed on the Nile river is expected to have the capacity to carry 66 billion m3 of water and generate an estimated 15,100 GWh of electricity annually.
Travelport International Operations Ltd. and Ethiopian Airlines renewed their agreement which allows Ethiopian Airlines to distribute Travelport+ and other related Travelport products in Ethiopia. The renewed agreement, which also allows Travelport’s new features and products to be sold in Ethiopia, will be effective until the end of 2026.
