Nestle, the global nutrition, health and wellness Company, disclosed it is considering to establish a manufacturing plant in Ethiopia within the coming years. However, final decision for the investment has not yet been made.
The Netherlands has become Ethiopia’s number one export destination, Ethiopia's Ministry of Trade Announced. During the 2019/20 fiscal year that ended on July 7, Ethiopia has exported over $322 million worth of commodities to the Netherlands, the Ministry declared. The Netherlands is also the top investor from European nations in Ethiopia.
The government of Netherlands is to assist Ethiopia to become competitive in the global sesame market by supporting ongoing efforts in Amhara and Tigray regional States.
The Dutch government has allocated 1.9 million Euros for implementation of projects in sesame growing areas of the regional states for the coming three years.Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, announced on Thursday, March 10, 2016 the nation would soon launch a 2,000 megawatt hydropower dam. Without giving any further details, he told the House of Peoples’ Representatives the launch of the dam would commence soon.
Ethiopia has signed new agreements with China as the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang arrived in Addis Ababa on the Sunday, May 4, 2014. This is Li’s first visit to Africa since he came to office last year.
