Julphar Ethiopia (Gulf Pharmaceutical PLC) announced that they have been working to up their production of hand sanitizer and other essential medicines in wake of the coronavirus pandemic, which is showing a surge in recent weeks in Ethiopia.
Juniper Glass Industries PLC disclosed it has finished all regulatory and merger requirements which enables it to form a venture with 2 other firms. The partnership between the 3 companies is going invest a total of 70 million USD and set up a glass manufacturing plant in Ethiopia. For this investment Juniper has joined hands with CONSOL Glass and Roha Venture.
Kabu Coffee has announced plans to market export standard Ethiopian coffee. The company has expanded its investment capital to 10 million birr for this venture.
Kabu is marketing high quality roasted coffee to international and domestic customers according to Aman Adinew company advisor. The company aimed to venture out in this direction from the outset he said.
Kabu strives to carefully control the quality of its ingredients to ensure the quality service promised by its slogan ‘Coffee Redefined’ said Aman.
Kaizen Ethiopia awarded the ‘Kaizen Award’ to three Ethiopian companies for the first time. The three companies which received the award are Kadisco Chemical Industry, Zenith Gebse-Eshet Ethiopia Ltd and Maru Metal Industry.
The companies were awarded for showing the most significant improvement in productivity through utilizing the Kaizen Philosophy.
The three companies were selected from a highly competitive pool because of the notable improvement seen in the quality of their products, increased productivity, improved safety conditions and the enhanced relationship between management and employees said Gethaun Tadesse, Director General of Kaizen Ethiopia, speaking at the awards ceremony held at the Ethiopia Hotel earlier this week.
Ethiopia is registering promising results by implementing Kaizen in 40 medium and high scale industries and businesses over the past eight months.
Professionals and experts drawn from several African countries are in Ethiopia to share best practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Ethiopian Industry Minister, Mekonnen Manyazewal said the Kaizen leadership philosophy is facilitating the nation’s endeavor to transform itself to an industry-led economy.
According to ERTA, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the occasion vowed to strengthen technical support in the efforts to apply the Kaizen leadership philosophy for Africa’s development.
