ICAO Recognizes Ethiopia for Establishing an Effective Aviation Safety Oversight System
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) awarded Ethiopia the Council President Certificate in Aviation Safety for Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP). State Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, Dengie Boru, received the award in Montreal, Canada.
Ethiopia was recognized for its achievement in establishing an effective aviation safety oversight system between 2019 and 2022 and its ongoing commitment to the implementation of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices.
USOAP focuses on a State’s capability in providing safety oversight by assessing whether the State has implemented the critical elements of a safety oversight system effectively and consistently.
