HMH President Visits Ethiopia

The President of Hospitality Management Holdings, Mr. Michel Noblet visited Ethiopia on a consultative trip. Noblet was interested in exploring opportunities for HMH in his visit here it was learned.

He met with several government officials in his time here including Amin Abdulkadir, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Yonas Desta, General Director of the Authority for Research & Conservation of Cultural Heritage and United Arab Emirates Ambassdor Extraordinary in Ethiopia Dr. Yousif Eisa Hassan Al Sabri it was learned.

There tourism and hospitality sectors in Ethiopia are growing significantly and welcome external input said Abdulkadir in his meeting with Noblet. The development of human resources in this sector is a priority in which input is highly sought he added. Ethiopia is committed to developing a highly skilled and internationally competitive workforce for both the domestic and international markets according to Abdulkadir.

Policy changes implemented by the government are key to the current increase in international conference tourism in Ethiopia as is the fact that several international organizations are based in the capital noted Noblet.

“Conference tourism too is poised to gain greater significance due to the development of several top hotels in Addis Ababa to meet the demand. However, the country needs a boost in terms of services with a more skilled and trained workforce that will be instrumental to the growth of the industry both locally and internationally.”
