Ethiopian Won “The Rising Star Carrier of the Year Award” - 20, October 2015
Ethiopian Airlines, the leading, fast growing and the largest cargo operatorin Africa, is pleased to announce that it has won “The Rising Star Carrier of the Year Award” on Payload Asia Awards 2015 on a gala dinner attended by more than 250 members of the air cargo fraternity from around the globe on October 15, 2015 at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Singapore.
Tewolde GebreMariam, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, said in a statement today his carrier still “believes in” Boeing in spite of the B737 Max 8 plane that crashed and killed all 157 people on board. This has led to the global grounding of the 737 Max model. Boeing shares have also fallen down by 14 percent since the crash, which translates into $34 billion off the company's value.
Tewolde GebreMariam, Ethiopian’s Group CEO, said the airlines has continues flying to destinations all over the world according to its usual schedule. Mr. Tewolde visited Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport, the biggest hub in Africa, as it kept running its operations smoothly.
