The Ethiopian Airlines is going to launch an Addis Ababa-Seychelles flight. The airlines will be operating one flight every week on Sundays, landing in Seychelles at 3:00 pm and departing in an hour.
Ethiopian has filed for slots to fly to the islands of Seychelles during the winter 2011-2012 schedule, which is the period starting 30 October 2011 to 24 March 2012.
The Ethiopia Airlines is one of Africa’s leading carriers, whose efficiency and operational success are not rivalled in the continent.
Ethiopian said last month that it was planning to increase its market share in Africa by ten folds in 2025 by raising the quality of its service and the number of its aircraft.
Tewolde Gebre-Mariam, CEO of the airlines, said that Ethiopian would add 70 modern, fuel-saving aircraft to its fleet.
According to Tewolde, Ethiopian's annual income has now reached 1.6 billion dollars and the company was working to raise it to 10 billion dollars. The airline’s annual number of passengers is currently over three million, three times greater than the number of passengers over the last five years.
Ethiopian Airlines's Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is scheduled to arrive in March next year, Fikre Degife, the airline’s area manager for China said early in July. The Dreamliner will be deployed on long direct flights including a new destination in China.
