Ethiopian to Build a $5 Bn New Airport
Africa's largest carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, plans to start building a new $5 billion airport in six months, its CEO, Tewolde GebreMariam, said. Ethiopian's rapid expansion is causing it to outgrow its current base in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian Airlines, the largest and leading aviation group in Africa, and its longstanding partner Boeing [NYSE:BA] announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the intent to purchase five 777-8 Freighters, the industry’s newest, most capable and most fuel-efficient twin-engine freighter.
