She expressed the company’s deep pride in reaching the finals of the African Award.The Africa Award for Entrepreneurship received 3,300 applications this year from 48 countries in Africa said Hamish Banks, Head of Corporate Communications for Legatum, the private investment group responsible for the award.
Selection as a finalist puts soleRebels in an elite category of achievement he added.
The award honors the best African entrepreneurs working to create businesses that meet the needs of those around them and that help raise the standard of living in their communities. The award has a monetary reward of $400,000.
Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu will now head to Nairobi, Kenya on December 8th, 2011 to give a final presentation in front of an elite panel of judges headed by VIRGIN founder Sir Richard Branson.
