Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing and most profitable airline in Africa, is pleased to announce that Ethiopian Airlines Chief Executive Officer Tewolde Gebremariam was awarded the 2015 International Grand Prix special award on Wednesday June 3, 2015 in a ceremony held in Milan.
Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing and most profitable airline in Africa, is pleased to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, has won the 2013 Planet Africa Professional Excellence Award on 2 November 2013 during a ceremony held at the International Centre in Toronto, Canada.
The award event of 2013 was held under theme “Celebrating the Dream”, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the "I have a Dream speech" of the renowned American civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King. His daughter, Dr. Bernice King, delivered a keynote speech and received the Legend Award in recognition of his legacy.
The cereals market in Ethiopia has shown a degree of stabilization with a slight decline in the price of produce.
The price of cereals declined or remained constant due to a mehar harvest expected to be bumper in spite of an irregular rainy season. The harvest is expected to increase the supply of staple grains on the market with and lead to a further decline in prices later on this year according to a report issued by the United Nations Office for Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs.The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Association elected Mulu Solomon as president on the 17th of December. Mulu was elected as head of the chamber in Ethiopia after acquiring 112 votes out of a possible of 187. 
Mulu was nominated as a presidential candidate for the ECCSA by the 7th General Assembly of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Association held last week.
The fourth Ethio-Chamber Trade Fair opened in Addis Ababa under the theme of ‘Buy Ethiopia.’ The fair is expected to forge strong links between business actors as well as promoting goods and services said Mekonnen Manyazewal Minister of Industry.
The fair is an opportunity for knowledge transfer resulting in increased business confidence in participants he said opening the fair.
It is anticipated that the fair will encourage local manufactures to commit their attention to enhancing the quality of their goods and services added Mekonnen. It is hoped that such efforts will contribute to realizing import substitution he noted.
