Five Ethiopian companies which are engaged in business outsourcing will engage in an international technology fair which will be held in Dubai this year. The companies participating in the GITEX Global Summit in Dubai are Africom Technologies, Excellerent Technology Solutions, IE Network Solutions, Orbit Health Solutions, and R&D Group.
Ethiopian company, Belayab Car Assembly plc, introduced a new model vehicle assembled in Ethiopia. The company based in Adama, Ethiopia is in partnership with First Automobile Workshop a Chinese company.
The new model vehicle, named Vela, is expected to retail for 315, 000 birr with an initial promotional discount rate of 290,000 birr to 298,000 birr.
Belayab reached an agreement with the First Automobile Workshop a year before it began production on the Vela according to Solomon Habtamu Manager of Belayab.
Coffee Plantation Development Enterprise (CPDE) announced that it had earned 84 million birr by selling
coffee at local and foreign markets over the last fiscal year. The enterprise sold 64,000 quintals of coffee during the reported period.
Countries to which the enterprise exported coffee include the United Sstates, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan and Sweden.
About 49.5 million birr of the 84 million birr profit was obtained from over 16,000 quintals coffee sold locally.
According to the director general of CPDE, the amount earned from the export of coffee is up by 56 million from last year’s earnings.
Zablon Trading Private Limited Company opened a processing plant for oilseed and pulses on 1 October 2011. The plant is expected to clean and sort over 1,200 quintals of export standard oil seeds and pulses every year.
The company has exported oil seeds and pulses valued at approximately 5 million dollars, last year and is planning to raise its exports to 25 million this year said Biniam Bedewi Owner and Managing director of Zablon. He said that they hope to achieve this through developing human resource and creating stronger links with local banks.
Holland Car plc, first automobile assembler in Ethiopia, has reached a Joint venture agreement with a transport company based in the Democratic Republic Congo, TRC-City to assemble Ahadu Bus and Abay Executive.
Holland Car owns 30% of the Joint Venture of the new assembly plant to be constructed in Kinshasa with the other 70% shared equally between the founding partners of TRC said Engineer Tadesse Tessema General Manager of the company.
Holland expects to show case the first Ahadu Bus assembled in the DRC in the coming four months according to sources.
