Ethiopian is co-hosting the Airport Infrastructures & MRO Aviation (AIMA) Meetings in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 22 to 24 September 2015. Over 250 participants from around the world are attending the meeting.

The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority issued a guideline to boost the growth and revenue of Ethiopia's coffee production. This guideline is expected to allow the Authority to collaborate with the International Trade Center and enhance the supply and marketing of coffee products in the value chain of the sector.

Ethiopian Coffee Exporters' Association (ECEA) and the Chinese Guangzhou Coffee Association (GCA) signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the promotion of the Ethiopian coffee brand in the emerging market of China.

The MoU was signed by Emebet Tafesse, vice president of ECEA, and Lin Guangchao, chairman of GCA, during a ceremony held in the ECEAconference hall.

The MoU is designed to create a joint partnership between the Ethiopian Coffee Exporters' Association and the Guangzhou Coffee Association for the purpose of encouraging coffee consumption and culture.

The ECEA statement said that the two associations had agreed to assist Ethiopian coffee exporters and Chinese coffee importers to come together and promote coffee trade and investment between citizens of the two countries.

The MoU includes for the two associations activities like organizing and carrying out coffee-related researches and promotional programs.

The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) is to hold Ethiopian Coffee Conference in November 2013. Anteneh Assefa, CEO of Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, said November’s coffee conference will bring together stakeholders and promote Ethiopian coffee. Details of the event are still being finalized.

Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing held Ethiopian Coffee Cupping and Promotion Event with a view to create a better awareness of the unique quality and taste of Ethiopian coffee. Ethiopia exported 12,380 tons of coffee to China in 2021 which showed a 196% increase when compared to the 2020 export which amounted to 4,178.9 tons.

During the event, Ambassador Teshome Toga, Ethiopian Ambassador to China, revealed that the bilateral trade volume between Ethiopia and China reached USD 2.19 billion. China has become one of the largest importers of Ethiopian coffee.
