Ethiopian Airlines started flights to Zimbabwe’s second major city, Bulawayo, and Zurich, Switzerland. Bulawayo borders South Africa and is known for its tourist attractions.

In September this year, it was reported that Ethiopian was set to start a direct flight between London and Bulawayo. The direct flight from London to Bulawayo is expected to make a breakthrough for the growth of economy and tourism of Bulawayo.

Various airlines are showing interest to enter Zimbabwe’s air market. Some airlines including Eurowings Discover, and RwandAir have already started operations in the country while Emirates increased its flight frequency. Bulawayo is one of the three flight destinations of Ethiopian Airlines in Zimbabwe along with Harare and Victoria Falls.

It is hoped that the airline’s direct flight to Zurich will enhance trade relations between Ethiopia and Switzerland.
