Ethiopian Airlines Lost $550 Mn Due to COVID-19, CEO Says

The profit by Ethiopian Airlines Group for the 2013/2014 fiscal year has hit the bar and made a record profit of 3.15 Billion Birr.
Ethiopian Airlines made its maiden flight to Toronto this week landing at Pearson International Airport. Toronto will be the
second destination for the airline in North America next to Washington D.C.
The flight was commemorated by an event attended by Ato Deriba Kuma, Ethiopian Minister of Transport, Ms. Michèle Lévesque, Canadian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mrs. Hazel McCallion, Mayor of Mississauga, Mr. Howard Eng. President and Chief Executive Officer of Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
The flight was welcomed with music, a water salute and dance performance at the terminal, ribbon cutting and cake.
The Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul unit of Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia's flag carrier, has received approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency. The Approval Certificate, EASA Part 145, was granted to the maintenance division of Ethiopian Airlines on the 21st of November. 
The approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency allows the MRO division of Ethiopian Airlines to repair the airplanes and aircraft components of European Union member country registered airlines. The airline is also authorized to issue EASA Airworthiness Certificates.
Ethiopian Airlines has been named Best African Airline by Business Traveller Awards 2020. Winners of the award, unveiled by the publishers of Panacea Media's Business Traveller magazine, are voted for by readers of the magazine.
