Ethiopian Airlines announced that its flights to China continue undeterred. In a news statement, the largest airline in Africa stated that its regular flights to its five Chinese destinations of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Hong Kong have not been interrupted, despite the coronavirus outbreak.
The Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy graduated 249 with aviation maintenance technicians, cabin crew and marketing 
trainees with diplomas. Fifty-six cabin crew, forty-three marketing trainees and 51 aircraft technicians. Four of the graduates are from Tanzania.
The airline had the capacity to train no more than 25 professionals just 20 years ago but currently has built its capacity to increase the number of its trainees according to Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive of the Ethiopian Airlines.
The airline aims to develop a leading Aviation Academy in Africa by offering international standard aviation training services as part of its Vision 2025 said Tewolde.
The Aviation Academy of Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia’s flag carrier, graduated 106 pilots, cabin crew and marketing agents.
Twenty of the graduates are pilots, while 43 are cabin crew and 43 are marketing trainees.
The graduating pilots have successfully completed the commercial piloting course offered by the academy with instrument and multi-engine ratings. Trainees undertook 695 hours of instruction in class and 170 hours of practical flight training on both multi-engine and single engine aircraft as well as 25 hours in a range of training devices and simulators throughout the course of the two year training program.
De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (“De Havilland Canada”) and Ethiopian Airlines Group (“Ethiopian”) announced yesterday, 20 July 2022, that Ethiopian has signed a proposal for the purchase of two Dash 8-400 Freighter – Large Cargo Door (F-LCD) conversion kits. The proposal provides an option for an additional two F-LCD conversion kits. The parties are working to finalize a definitive and binding agreement.
Ethiopian Airlines Group has finalized its feasibility study and signed a partnership business agreement with ACM Aerospace of Germany pursuant to the aerospace manufacturing development program it has embarked on. The purpose of the agreement is to set up a facility in Ethiopia that will manufacture and supply aircraft seat covers, safety belts, carpets and many other interior parts to ACM Aerospace as part of the company’s line of production.
