Ethiopian Airlines Flights to China Undeterred

Ethiopian Airlines Logo flagEthiopian Airlines announced that its flights to China continue undeterred. In a news statement, the largest airline in Africa stated that its regular flights to its five Chinese destinations of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Hong Kong have not been interrupted, despite the coronavirus outbreak.

The flights to the five destinations have continued "with the usual supply and demand adjustment [Ethiopian] always makes during the Chinese New Year Holidays," the airline declared.

Pointing out China is "one of the strongest and one of the oldest markets for Ethiopian Airlines," a destination the airline had for almost half a century, the statement said China is its "growth strategic market".

Regardless, Ethiopian is working with all the relevant Chinese and Ethiopian authorities to make sure that passengers and crew remain free from the coronavirus, in compliance with IATA, WHO, and CDC guidelines, the statement read.
