Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing and most customer service driven airline in Africa, was chosen as Service Quality Institute's Worldwide Customer Service Leader in Istanbul Turkey on 12 October during the awards banquet at the Worldwide Customer Service Conference.

Ethiopian Airlines launched a manufacturing plant that produced insulation blanket for Boeing-737, an equipment which is used to protect passengers and crew from engine noise and frigid temperatures.
Ethiopian Airlines started twice weekly service to Bogota, Colombia using the B777 freighter on 29 August 2018. The cargo service will depart from Zaragoza (Spain) and will fly to Bogota with a stopover in Miami. The airline’s Group CEO, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, said, they were very happy to see Zaragoza, Miami, and Bogota, connecting their fast growing freighter network in the Americas.
Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa’s best airline, has announced the completion of passenger to freighter conversion of one of its three B767 aircraft. Ethiopian partnered with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and launched a B767-300ER freighter conversion line at Ethiopian MRO facilities in Addis Ababa.
The airline introduced these aircraft models in 2004. The conversion is aimed at replacing these ageing airplanes with ultramodern and technologically-advanced passenger aircraft to provide utmost comfort and convenience for passengers. The conversion of the aircraft into freighter also boosts the airline’s cargo shipment capacity and enhance its service.
