Ethiopian Airlines Collaborates with Geven Skytecno to Manufacture Insulation Blankets

Ethiopian Airlines launched a manufacturing plant that produced insulation blanket for Boeing-737, an equipment which is used to protect passengers and crew from engine noise and frigid temperatures.

The airline will manufacture 726 shift sets of insulation blanket in the coming 9 years together with Geven Skytecno, an Italian company. Ethiopian has so far produced 6 shift sets for the aircraft.

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Group, the plant would enable technology to be transferred to the Ethiopian industry and help the country generate foreign currency. The plant was constructed at a cost of USD 6 million.
The inauguration ceremony saw the participation of the Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Government officials.
