Addis Ababa Public Procurement and Property Disposal Service awarded Steely RMI PLC to supply 50,084 tons of reinforcement bars that are worth 1.23 billion Birr. The steel is for the public housing projects the Addis Ababa City Administration is undertaking.
Stella Trade and Industry PLC is granted large-scale gold mining license to mine in Gambella State, Ethiopia. This makes Stella the first company to extract gold in Gambella.
According to Ethiopia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EEITI) publication, currently there are more than 80 companies exploring for gold in Ethiopia. Nonetheless, it is only 4 companies that have been granted extraction license.

Ethiopian Sugar Corporation is currently considering to join hands with investors from Ethiopia and abroad to build as well as manage sugar factories.
