The Sidama Regional State has supplied 38,487 tons of coffee to Ethiopia’s central market during the first 11 months of the 2024/25 Ethiopian fiscal year, achieving 96% of its annual supply target.
The Sidama Regional State has deposited more than 176 kilograms of gold to the National Bank of Ethiopia during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, according to the Regional Mining and Energy Agency. The agency also reported that the mining sector has created employment opportunities for over 4,000 youth in the same period.
The Sidama Regional Industrial Parks Development Corporation announced that it had earned more than USD 3.3 million from avocado oil exports in the fiscal year ending March 31. During the same period, the Yirgalem Agro-Industrial Park processed 16,000 tons of raw materials.
Sidama State has earned over Birr 2.2 billion from 2.4 million tourists in the past nine months, according to the State Culture, Tourism, and Sport Bureau. The revenue came from both domestic and international visitors who explored the region’s religious, cultural, historical, and natural attractions.
Sika Abyssinia Chemicals Manufacturing PLC, an affiliate of the Swizz Company Sika AG, inaugurated its manufacturing plant in Ethiopia. The plant is said to produce admixtures, waterproofing, sealing and bonding, refurbishment, flooring and roofing categories of construction chemicals.
