Ethiopia: Samaka Stones to Launch Mining Marble in Benishangul- Gumuz State

Samaka Stones, an Indian Limited Company has signed an agreement on August 10, 2015, with Ethiopian Ministry of Mines to mine marble in Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State, Ethiopia.

The Company allotted 2.9 million USD to start the production of 131,600 cubic meters of marble per year.

State Minister of Mines Dr. Alemu Sime at the signing ceremony said marble production would contribute to the construction industry, the earning of foreign currency, knowledge and technology transfer.

The agreement extends Samaka Stones an exclusive right to undertake large-scale mining within the license area for the next 20 years.
