Ethiopia: Oromia Identifies Five Towns for Industry Zones

Oromia Regional State identified five towns – Chiro, Yabelo, Sendafa, Ambo, and Tefki, to build industry zones. Chiro and Yabelo are chosen for their proximity to Ethio-Djibouti railway and the Kenyan port, respectively, while Sendafa, Ambo, and Tefki are selected considering their proximity to Bole International Airport.
Oromia Insurance Company SC (OIC) disclosed it had paid a total of 380,000 Birr as compensation for farmers. The claims by the farmers were made following the drought Ethiopia experienced last year as a consequence of El Nino phenomenon.
Ethiopia's Oromia International Bank has acquired the 13-storey SA building located on Africa Avenue, Bole Road. The Bank bough the building for 210 million Ethiopian birr in June 2013.
