Oromia Regional State has generated over USD 163.74 million in revenue from mineral exports within the last seven months. This export figure comes alongside domestic earnings which reached Birr 1.036 billion.
Oromia Regional State identified five towns – Chiro, Yabelo, Sendafa, Ambo, and Tefki, to build industry zones. Chiro and Yabelo are chosen for their proximity to Ethio-Djibouti railway and the Kenyan port, respectively, while Sendafa, Ambo, and Tefki are selected considering their proximity to Bole International Airport.
