Ethiopia: Oromia Coffee Farmers’ Union Earns Over €1.7 Million from Carbon Credit Sales

Over the past five years, the Oromia Coffee Producers’ Union has generated over 1.1 million euros through carbon sales.

The Oromia Construction Corporation has reported revenue exceeding Birr 15.5 billion from 85 completed construction projects in the 2024/25 fiscal year.

Twenty-one hotels in Oromia Regional State were awarded five to one star during the past five months. Oromia Culture and Tourism Bureau collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism to designate the stars to the hotels. In the past, stars were awarded to the hotels in the Regional State by the Federal Government. The Bureau awarded the stars after examining 31 hotels.
Oromia Regional State’s Mineral Development Authority generated USD 324 million from mineral mining during the 2021/2022 fiscal year. The Regional State sold a total of 4,316 kilograms of gold and 461,000 tons of coal during the same period. In addition, it supplied 22 million tons of gypsum stone to construction companies situated in Addis Ababa.
