Oromia Construction

The Oromia Construction Corporation has reported revenue exceeding Birr 15.5 billion from 85 completed construction projects in the 2024/25 fiscal year.

CEO Engineer Ashenafi Daba highlighted that the corporation achieved 86 percent of its operational plan, including the completion of large-scale irrigation dam projects that had previously faced delays.

For the first time, the corporation posted a net profit of over Birr 1 billion, marking a 52 percent increase from the previous year. The organization also advanced in digitalization by implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology and earned three ISO certifications covering quality management, occupational health and safety, and environmental management. Recognition at national and African levels for Kaizen practices further reinforced the corporation’s leadership in introducing new technologies.

Ashenafi emphasized that ongoing organizational reforms and improved project management culture have contributed to these achievements. Looking ahead, the corporation plans to complete 63 public service projects in the 2025/26 fiscal year, targeting Birr 18.6 billion in revenue and Birr 1.9 billion in net profit.

Director of Strategic Planning Ethiopia Erena noted efforts to expand beyond Ethiopia, exploring projects in Uganda and Djibouti, while addressing challenges such as delayed payments, rising input costs, and security concerns in collaboration with stakeholders.
